Fanny, born into a poor family, is sent away to live with wealthy uncle Sir Thomas, his wife and their four children, where she'll be brought up for a proper introduction to society. She is treated unfavorably by her relatives, except for her cousin Edmund, whom she grows fond of. However, Fanny's life is thrown into disarray with the arrival of worldly Mary Crawford and her brother Henry.

طفلة صغيرة في العاشرة من عمرها تبكي في عربة تنقلها بعيدا عن بيتها الذي لم تغادره أبدا، بعيدا عن والديها وإخوتها، لأن أمها التي رأت عدم قدرتها على تربية الابنة وسط الظروف المادية الصعبة، قامت بإرسالها إلى أختها الثرية ليدي “ماري بيرترام” وزوجها البارون “توماس بيرترام” لتعيش حياتها بينهم .تصل الطفلة “فاني برايس” إلى مانسفيلد بارك وتتعرف إلى العائلة المكونة من السيد والسيدة بيرترام، و4 أبناء “إدموند” و “توم” ” مارايا” و “جوليا” .. تبكي بداية، ثم تتآلف مع المحيط.
