تدور أحداث الفيلم حول علي الدقاق (أحمد عز) اللص المحترف الذي يتم القبض عليه خلال عملية سرقة قتل فيها أحد الأشخاص ويحكم عليه بالسجن المؤبد لكن مزورا محترفا ينتحل صفة العقيد شوقي (نور الشريف) يخرجه من السجن بعد اقناعه بتقديم خدمة وطنية يقتل فيها جاسوسا إسرائيليا قبل أن يكتشف الحقيقة عقب عودة المزور إليه بعد سنوات طالبا منه القيام بمهمة أخرى.
