تدور أحداث الفيلم في سوريا خلال صراعات السنوات الماضية، حيث يدمر صاروخ سقف منزل الفتاة زينة ذات الـ 14 سنة، لتنام بعدها لأول مرة تحت النجوم، وتقيم صداقة مع عامر الصبي بالمنزل المجاور، ومع تصاعد العنف تُصر والدتها هالة على الرحيل وتدخل في صراع مع زوجها معتز الذي يرفض أن يتحول للاجئ ويمنع عائلته من ترك المنزل.
